AED Training

8 coaches/committee members attended an AED/Defibrillator course in the Oriel House on Friday 24th March.  The club will hold additional AED/defibrillator courses in the future.  The club would like to thank club members who attended - Áine, Louise, Michael, Séan, Frances, Rachel, Mags and Larry. 



Ballincollig AC Fit4Life

Rebel Run 5k & 10k

Well done to all who participated in the Cork Sports Partnership Rebel Run 5k and 10km on Sunday 22nd October. Martin Lynch, Deirdre Lee, Mari Lyne and Mags Caroll ran in the 10km.  Rachel Benson, Rachel Lynch, Alex Karczmorzyk, Alannah O’Flaherty, Michael Mitten, Mairéad Aherne, Catherine O’Neill and Noreen O’Neill ran in the 5k run.   A special thanks to club members Martin O Sullivan, Tony Cooney, Pádraig Kelly, Helen Kelly, Larry O’Shea, Seán Lee, Frances Lynch, Éamonn Ó Ceallaigh, Melanie White, Noreen O’Regan and Mark O Neill for helping out with parking, stewarding and the 10k water station.    



Juvenile Training 

Ballincollig Athletic Club organise training sessions for athletes who are 9 years or older. 

Monday 6:30-7:30 PM CIT Athletics Track

Thursday 7-8pm Colásite Choilm 

Ballincollig AC have the use of indoor and outdoor training facilities at Monday and Thursday training sessions.  The club organise additional training sessions on Tuesdays for secondary school students.  This sessions is open to club members only. 


Womens Mini Marathon


Well done to all the club members and friends of Ballincollig AC who participated in the 36th Womens Mini Marathon, 24th September. Rachel Lynch, Rachel Benson, Alex Karczmarzyk, Aoibh Daly, Kate Healy and Miriam Healy.  Also to all the members from fit4life Ballincollig AC who participated.

The club would also like to thank club members who helped out with stewarding and officiating.  This event is organised by Cork County Athletics Board and is supported Athletics Clubs in Cork.  



Ballincollig parkrun

Ballincollig  and Macroom (Castle Demense) parkrun were cancelled on Saturday 21st Oct.  Keep an eye on the Ballincollig parkrun’s facebook page for any updates on the reopening of the park.  Sadly the parkrun facebook page mentions that a number of runners are entering the park even though it is closed by the council.

Ballincollig AC would like to thank the general public and clubs members for their support during the Tesco Blue Tokens initiative.  The club are delighted with the support received and looking forward to investing the €391.30 raised in a new stock of hurdles. Recently the club purchased 12 new hurdles to add to the clubs existing stock.
